Applications for enrolment in Grade 1 are managed by the Department of Education via an on-line application system.  Applications for Grade 1 generally open in July.

Applications for enrolment in Grade 2-7 open in February and close in November.

Applications for enrolment in Grade R (Voyager Preschool Academy) open in May and close in August.

Learners enrolled at Tom Newby School have access to two privately managed aftercare services.  Both aftercare services are located on Tom Newby School premises.  This makes it a safer and more convenient option than other aftercare facilities in the area.

TNS Preschool and Aftercare

Giselle Mynhardt leads, manages and supports the learners and staff at Tom Newby School.  She has been the principal at our school since 2007.

Tom Newby School does not offer scholar transport programmes and it is not authorised to recommend transport associations.

Lost property is stored in the school shop for 3 months.  Thereafter, clothing items are donated to the school used clothing shop and other lost property is recycled or repurposed.

Our school has a school shop that sells used clothing, some new uniform items (ties, socks, PT-shirts, etc.)  The shop also stocks some basic stationery items.

 

School shop opening times:
7:15am to 8am Mon – Thurs
10:15am to 10:45 Mon-Thurs

 

Emerald Green PT Golf shirts are only available from the school shop – from R140 each.

The school day begins at 07:30 and departure times vary per grade.  Please refer to the school times listed on our home page.
