JOB DESCRIPTION
We require a reliable administrator to contact debtors and claim outstanding school fees. He/she will be
responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible. He/she will have to be polite and
sensitive towards people while also remaining persistent and committed to his/her purpose.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts.
• Plan a course of action to recover outstanding payments.
• Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status.
• Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.
• Handle questions or complaints.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Create trust relationships with debtors, when possible, to avoid future issues.
• Update account status and database regularly.
• Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary.
• Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable.
• Manage the school fee exemption process and documents for parents who qualify for
discounts/exemptions on school fees.
• Report on progress to the school principal, SGB treasurer and SGB chairman.
• Liaise with legal entities engaged by the school to deal with delinquent accounts.
REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience as debt collector.
• Experience in working with targets and deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant legal requirements, including the school fee exemption process.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel. Knowledge of Edupac will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Aptitude in negotiating and persuading.
• Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence.
• Matric or equivalent is required. Additional qualifications in finance/debt collection will be an advantage
Salary: Basic monthly salary: R8000.00 – R10000.00 Commission: To be discussed
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 07:30 to 15:30
